In Loving Memory of Milton Cheek

A bond so strong, unbreakable and true
Two men, like brothers, through and through
Shared laughter, tears, and everything in between
A friendship like theirs, seldom seen

But tragedy struck, a dark and heavy blow
The pain and sorrow, impossible to show
The weight of the world, too much to bear
His best friend lost to despair

The laughter silenced, the tears never cease
He wanders aimlessly, searching for peace
Memories flood his mind, overwhelming and strong
Aching for his friend, now forever gone

Regret and guilt, a heavy burden to bear
Why couldn’t he see, why wasn’t he there?
Questions unanswered, haunting his mind
Leaving him lost and broken, struggling to find

But through the darkness, a flicker of light
He holds on to the memories, shining bright
His best friend may be gone, but never forgotten
Their bond eternal, in their hearts begotten

In the silence, he hears a whisper, so clear
“Though I am gone, I am always near
Cherish our friendship, hold it tight
And remember me, in the morning light”

So he picks up the pieces, and carries on
His best friend’s spirit, forever strong
In his heart, a place reserved
For the man he loved and truly deserved

Though the pain lingers, and the wounds run deep
He will never forget, his eternal sleep
For in his heart, his best friend will abide
Forever remembered, by his side.
